Week 7

WEEK 7 STUDIO MAKING       This week I experimented with paper folding techniques. I created this model that consists of four papers folded and then stuck together to create a zig-zag motion. The model could be formed as a bridge-like appearance but also folded together closely to form an interesting model that could be placed on top of a large building. This model was created with thick normal paper which was appropriate as it was able to be flexible with the folds. If I have used cardboard it would have not folded as easily as paper, hence does not give a firm appearance.  I also created a model of a room with cardboard which was 1:100 scale. I also added small pieces of furniture including a table and a bed to further enhance the model. I like using cardboard as it gives a firm figure and is easy to attach all pieces whereas paper is flimsy so it can be difficult to attach pieces together.
